Textile Dopp Kit #1

This kit is made by hand at our atelier using vintage, handwoven deadstock Moroccan blankets. Each bag features two leather handles, a zipper, and a soft cotton canvas interior lining with an interior pocket.

The Dopp kit is sometimes known as the toilet bag, shaving bag, and travel kit. In the early 1900's, Charles Doppelt and his nephew designed the original leather Dopp Kit. The name 'Dopp' was derived from Doppelt's last name. Although they were said to be issued as standard equipment for US soldiers in the military during WWI, Dopp Kits were popularized by soldiers during WWII.
